| The contest ended up being much more exciting than the BCS Championship Game itself. Since LSU won by exactly 14 points, bowl these over.. and Gulch each finished the contest with identical 1068 points and 24-8 records. This tie occurred despite the fact that there were 8 games they each picked differently.
So, the contest winner had to be determined by our 3rd tie-breaker, picking the total points scored in the championship game. And wouldn't you believe it, but this also ended up almost being a tie! With the final score 38-24 (total points = 62), bowltheseover.. won the tie-breaker with a guess of 78 (off by 16) compared to Gulch's guess of 45 (off by 17). It was unbelievably and agonizingly close. Honorable mention goes to Catchin Up Yet who almost lived up to their namesake and ended up in 3rd place.
